5 Bold Steps to Take to

Become a Work at Home Mom

Are you a working mom who dreams of being home for your kids? Perhaps you’re feeling unfulfilled at work, tired, overwhelmed, discouraged, and perhaps a twinge of guilt?
There may be times you dream of the day when you can leave your corporate job behind and start your own business…and run it from the comfort of your home.
Then you can set your own schedule, design your day, raise your own children, and become a successful mompreneur.
It doesn’t have to be a dream. It can become a reality.
If being your own boss appeals to you, here are 5 bold steps to take to become a work at home mom:

#1 – Commit to it.

It’s decision time. Then, it’s commitment time. Start by determining Why you want to transition from employee to work at home mom.  Is it to be there for your kids at home? Are you tired of missing out on your baby’s firsts? Or maybe you’re tired of answering to someone else and helping someone else get richer while your paycheck barely increases. What is your Why?
No one-word answers allowed.
You have to write out your feelings – those burning desires in your heart that will keep you motivated to persevere until you are a profitable business owner. Here’s an example:
I want to be able to cook breakfast and see each of my children off to school without having to rush. I want to be able to take vacations on the spur of the moment and have as many sick days as needed, without feeling guilty. I want the thrill of creating a product, promoting it and seeing the profits roll in.
Once you’ve written your “Why” statement, fill in the blanks below, print it out and put it where you’ll see it daily:
I _____(your name)____ commit today, _____(date)_____, that I will leave my job at ____(company name)______ by _________.  I commit to leaving because ___________(your reason why)_______________.

#2 – Design it.

To design the business and life you want, you first have to plan it. In creating your plan, ask yourself: What are my strengths? What do I already know how to do? Who needs it? How can I best market it? How much will it cost me?How can I afford it? How much will I charge? How much do I need to make to leave my job? When will I leave?

#3 – Launch it.

Now it’s time to get it off paper and into reality. You need to start with creating your “hub.” Where will you promote your services from? Creating a website is the best first step, then establishing your social media accounts. Add your content and you’re ready to begin promoting it.

#4 – Promote it.

Creating a website to display your products or services is a good first step, but it can’t stop there. You have to actively promote who you are, what you do, who you help and why.
Content marketing is a great way to share this information and to attract your ideal customers.  Also, keep in mind the old-school marketing methods. These tried and true methods can really help you promote your business.
It’s all about strategy and by putting systems and marketing into place, consistently, you can help ensure your success.

#5 – Leave.

It’s time now. You’ve planned it well, launched it and now you have a consistent method of promoting what you do.  You’ve gotten your first few customers and have reached your initial income goal.  You may not be able to replace your corporate income just yet, but it’s still time to make the leap of faith and put your all into your business.
To do this, you must actually leave your corporate job. No need to be alarmed…you planned for this day. You’ve done the work. It’s time to let go and let God.
It’s the system I used to leave my corporate job and create my online business. And it’s the system that can work for you too.
